About Me

I walk around the world ears first, which is how I landed a job as a reporter and producer at WNPR in Hartford, where I worked for five years. While at WNPR, I covered Connecticut's civil union bill from inception to passage. I spent six weeks covering the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on special assignment in partnership with National Public Radio and member station WRKF.

While pursuing a Master of Journalism degree at the University of California, Berkeley I've learned to juggle a flash recorder, 35mm film camera, and a laptop for stories in print and online.

Last summer I reported for the Associated Press in South Africa (it was winter there, and it snowed). I recently completed my first full-length radio documentary exploring the tensions between black Americans and African immigrants.

This summer I'll travelled to Ohio to report about job growth and the under-skilled labor force as a News21 fellow.

Now I'm working as the Senior Producer for Multimedia at GlobalPost. We'll be launching an international news Web site in January, which is very exciting.
